Pray for Pippy
Well, hello everyone - this is the "male captor" speaking. This is officially my first post on Pippin's site here. To be honest with you, I am truly amazed of the popularity that his site has gained. Who would have thought that my cat would be an internet phenomenom (at least that's what he tells us he is)?
Aside from my amazement, the real reason I am posting here is to inform everyone that Pippin will not be posting on the site for at least a few days.
Over the weekend, Pippin became sick; beginning on Saturday morning, he was vomiting every hour or so. Obviously concerned, my girlfriend (the female captor) and I took Pippin into the vet on Saturday morning. There they evaluated him and told us that it's probably one of two things; a) he has a simple stomach bug, or b) he ate something, such as a rubber band or string, that is stuck in his intentistines. Intracutaneously (under the skin), they injected him with IV fluid, gave him some B vitamins and something to reduce his stomach acid and told us to keep an eye on him.
We took him home, and immediately it was apparent that his condition would not improve. He was more lethargic than before, he continued to vomit throughout the day, and his body was "squishy" from all the fluid under his skin; I can't imagine that that would be comfortable for him.
Needless to say, Pippin was back at the vet's this morning where they almost immediately determined the culprit of his condition: a string. With Pippin's persistently overbearing curiousity, he it took upon himself to injest a long black thread. Unfortunately for all of us, the thread has become "stuck" in his intestines, and the only way to remove it now is with surgery.
So as we speak, the vet has Pippin on the operating table removing the string, and hopefully the source of his recent illness.
I'll keep everyone posted on his condition as soon as we know. They will be holding him at the animal hospital for 3-4 days at a minimum so hopefully he is with us and back home before the end of the week. There can be a number of complications from this surgery, so we need everyone to help us pray for Pippy!

Obviously and unfortunately, there will not be a "Pippy Mail" this Tuesday. Although, I'm sure he'll want to quickly get back to things as soon as he recovers and returns home.
